StockPlus vs Capitol Gains

An iPhone app that turns congressional disclosures into scored signals, cross-referencing trades against committee assignments and lobbying spend.

Choose StockPlus if

Being one app instead of two. Capitol Gains is congressional data only, on iPhone only, and its watchlist is a list of politicians rather than a list of stocks. StockPlus is on both stores and holds your actual watchlist, live prices, price alerts, insider filings, 13F holdings and a morning briefing, with congressional trades as one feed inside it.

Choose Capitol Gains if

Editorial analysis of the filings. Capitol Gains does not just list trades: it scores committee conflicts from 0 to 100, flags cluster buys and whale trades, cross-references lobbying expenditure, and ranks members by trading performance. StockPlus shows you the filing and lets you draw your own conclusion. If you want the tool to have an opinion about which trades look off, they have built that and we have not.

The verdict

If congressional trading is the thing you care about and you are on an iPhone, Capitol Gains reads the filings more aggressively than we do and $6.99/mo is fair for that. If congressional trades are one input among prices, alerts and earnings, StockPlus covers the whole job for $2.99/mo and runs on Android too.

Questions people ask

How much is Capitol Gains?

There is a free tier with the live feed, member browsing, basic analytics and signals. Pro is $6.99/month or $49.99/year, as read from capitolgainsapp.com on 27 August 2026.

What does the committee-conflict score mean?

It is Capitol Gains' own 0 to 100 measure of overlap between a member's trades and the industries their committee oversees. It is an editorial signal computed from public data, not a finding of wrongdoing, and the app is careful to say so.

Does StockPlus score congressional trades the same way?

No. StockPlus shows the filing and who filed it, and its Pulse Score is a 0 to 100 read on the stock itself rather than on the politician. If conflict scoring is what you want, Capitol Gains does it and we do not.
