Analyst ratings and research platform

StockPlus vs TipRanks

A research platform built around measuring the people giving advice — tracked performance for Wall Street analysts and financial bloggers, distilled into a Smart Score per stock.

Choose StockPlus if

Cost and delivery. TipRanks Premium lists at $30/mo against $2.99 for StockPlus Pro, its alerting is email, and its congressional coverage is absent where ours is free. StockPlus is the narrower product and priced like it.

Choose TipRanks if

Grading the experts. TipRanks tracks the historical accuracy of thousands of analysts and bloggers, ranks research firms against each other, and folds it into a Smart Score alongside risk-factor analysis and insider activity. Nothing else in this comparison set answers "is this analyst actually any good", and StockPlus does not attempt it.

The verdict

TipRanks sells a second opinion about first opinions, and if you act on analyst calls that is worth real money — knowing which analysts have been right is better than knowing what they said. If you do not act on analyst calls, most of what you would be paying for goes unused, and the monitoring you actually wanted costs a tenth as much.

Questions people ask

How much does TipRanks cost?

As of 14 August 2026 its plans page listed Premium at $30/month and Ultimate at $50/month, both displayed with a 55% discount bringing them to $13.50 and $22.50/month, with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Promotional pricing changes often, so check the page — the list prices are the more durable comparison. StockPlus Pro is $2.99/mo.

Does TipRanks track congressional trades?

Congressional trading is not named on its plans page as of August 2026, though Ultimate does include Insiders' Hot Stocks for insider activity. StockPlus carries congressional and insider feeds in the free tier.

Is the Smart Score the same as the Pulse Score?

No, and it is worth being precise since both are single numbers. Smart Score is built largely on analyst and expert track records, which is TipRanks' whole speciality. The Pulse Score is a 0–100 read on a ticker you already follow, inside a monitoring app. They are answering different questions.

Does TipRanks send alerts to my phone?

It has email alerts, unlimited on the Ultimate plan, and it does publish mobile apps. StockPlus is built the other way round — the push notification is the product, and everything else is arranged around it.
