StockPlus vs TradingView

The charting platform most traders end up on — advanced charts across every asset class, a scripting language for custom indicators, and a large community publishing ideas.

Not having to look. TradingView is a workspace you open; StockPlus is a briefing that arrives and alerts that find you. Congressional and insider filings are core here, and the basics do not sit behind exchange data fees.

Choose TradingView if

Charts, and it is not close. Pine Script, hundreds of built-in indicators, multi-chart layouts, replay, and a community publishing setups every day. If you draw on charts to make decisions, nothing in StockPlus replaces TradingView.

The verdict

TradingView is a professional charting tool that happens to track your watchlist. StockPlus is a monitoring app that has no ambition to replace your charts. If you are technical and screen-time is the point, TradingView earns its price. If you check the market twice a day and want the important part handed to you, a $199 chart workspace is the wrong shape — and so, for most people, is remembering to open one.

Questions people ask

Is StockPlus a TradingView replacement?

No, and it does not try to be. TradingView is a charting and scripting platform; StockPlus is a daily monitoring app — briefing, watchlist, alerts, congressional and insider filings. Traders commonly use a charting tool and a monitoring app side by side.

Is TradingView free?

The Basic plan is free with ads and limits — 2 indicators per chart and 3 price alerts. Paid plans ran from $12.95/mo (Essential) to $199.95/mo (Ultimate) as of August 2026, and real-time US exchange data is billed separately on top. Check their pricing page for current figures.

Does TradingView track congressional trades?

No. Congressional disclosures are not a TradingView dataset, and insider filings appear only through community-built indicators rather than a native feed. StockPlus includes both as feeds, with congressional trades in the free tier.

How many price alerts do I get?

TradingView gives 3 on the free plan and scales up by tier. StockPlus includes price and percent-change alerts in the free tier, with higher limits on Pro at $2.99/mo.
